MP Junet Mohamed sends warning to Tanga Tanga MPs ahead of Mombasa BBI rally

Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed has welcomed Tanga Tanga MPs to Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) rally to be held in Mombasa over the weekend.

Junet said the BBI process was “all about inclusivity and not exclusivity” but warned the MPs allied to Deputy President William Ruto against causing any chaos.

“If they are coming in any way to attempt to undermine that meeting or to create the slightest of chaos, we’re prepared for them,” said the ODM legislator who also serves as Minority Whip in the National Assembly.

The MPs remarks follow a declaration by leaders allied to DP Ruto that they would forthwith attend BBI meetings being planned across the country.

“We will be participating in all public BBI rallies across the country. This weekend, we will be in Mombasa together with the BBI team, we will participate fully and mobilise our constituents to present their views in all the 290 constituencies,” said Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen on Tuesday.

Murkomen’s rejoinder to Junet underlined pundits’ opinion that DP allies may have arrived at the decision in order  to stop the opposing camp from scoring political points by talking down the DP.

“I would like to welcome all leaders to the BBI meeting in Mombasa this Saturday. We shall be focusing on the unity and development of this country and not sideshows about 2022 and discussing individuals. Karibuni Pwani!” wrote the Senate majority leader.

Early this week, DP Ruto slammed the Kakamega BBI rally saying his name was mentioned more times than the supposed subject of the meetings.
