Uasin Gishu Woman Representative Gladys Shollei is convinced that someone is out to ruin her character after photos with a man alleged to be her lover emerged online.
The photos which emerged on Friday afternoon set the internet abuzz with discussion centering at how both the MP and her husband “had moved on fast.”
Gladys ex-husband, who is a former Standard Group CEO, Sam Shollei, has since gotten married to a younger woman after he was granted divorce from Gladys on January 8, 2020 by a Nairobi court.
Sam had filed for divorce from Gladys on September 6, 2019 after 25 years of being married to the former Judiciary registrar.
In a press conference held at Poa Place in Eldoret on Friday, January 24, the legislator said the photos were the work of her tormentor who she claimed was a person known to her.
“Recently, I have been threatened with destruction of my character and image by a person known to me,” said the MP.
Further the MP who said did no find any fault with the photos added she would not respond to her detractors. Notably, the MP did not clarify her relationship with the Caucasian man.
“I will, however, never respond to them, or do the same to them because I was never raised to be an evil person. I have seen that they are making good of those threats.
Those photographs out there reveal no improper conduct on my part. In terms of using them to destroy me, I believe that no human being can destroy me unless my God will it, or if their God, which they are not.”
