-Who do you think should make the list of the top 10 most handsome football players?
Football is a male-dominated sport. This means there’s very little obsession with the looks of football players among the fanbase.
This is in contrast to female footballers like Alisha Lehmann, who hog acres of media space with more emphasis on their looks.
However, I recently came across a video that discussed the top 10 most handsome football players.
What’s interesting is that both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were on the list. Obviously, Ronaldo topped the list.
However, Messi’s number two position on the list seemed to divide opinion.
To most football fans, Cristiano Ronaldo rightfully topped the list, but… No. Well, some said yes; he was there rightfully.
Interestingly, there are those who declared their love for Messi as a footballer but said he should not feature even in the top 20. He! He!
Which reminds me. Sometime back, the revered football commentator Peter Druly had a very interesting perspective about Messi’s performance.
In Druly’s words:
“Ronaldo looks like an athlete, doesn’t he? I mean, he is a remarkable specimen of a human being; Messi looks like the boy next door and performs like a god.”
I think Messi’s stellar performance on the pitch clouds judgement in any contest he features.
But if you ask the girls to choose the more handsome of the two, the ladies will obviously choose CR7.
Little wonder: Cristiano Ronaldo has 623 million followers on Instagram, while Leo Messi has 500 million followers.
Before I share my list of the top 10 most handsome football players, allow me to share some comments from the video.
Orilowo Horfulay: Messi is not among the hundred handsome footballers, because Mbappe, Rashford, Gernacho, Osinmeh, and more are more handsome than Messi.
Nick Dasioh: “This is an open indication that Messi is always favoured. We have so many players that are far more handsome than Messi.”
Henry Obi: Neymar is far better than Messi. I mean handsome; I have not even called Jamal Musiala. What of Paulo Dybala? Messi is not among the top 30 most handsome footballers, even currently, if we are being honest.
Jacquiline Chuma: “Please remove Messi with all due respect, sir. Let Pablo be number 1.”
Cleo Felix Petra: No, Messi is not that handsome, and the most handsome footballer isn’t Ronaldo; it’s Bellingham.
Hermie Zorilla Jordan: “CR7 is the most handsome among them. He possesses the height, the perfect body shape, and the most stunningly gorgeous, handsome face. All these attributes combined make him at the top!!!”
Mbimenyuy Hasana: “CR7 is handsome both physically and mentally, he is naturally handsome, with no tattoo.”
Jacob Touthang: Christiano is the most handsome footballer. Messi is the best player. Case closed.
Celestine Itua: “Gavi is more handsome than Ronaldo and Messi; in fact, Gavin is the most handsome footballer on this list.”
Rufaro Guni: I love Messi like crazy, and I’m his biggest fan, but he ain’t in the top 10 of handsome footballers.
