-Pastor Kanyari’s younger sister Starlet Wahu Mwangi is dead
-The murder suspect, John Matara, is in police custody
Starlet Wahu, 26, never imagined that January 3 would be her last day alive after she met John Matara in Papino apartments in South B, Nairobi.
It has now emerged that the two enjoyed a good time together before they got into a confrontation that would lead to Wahu’s death.
Police say Wahu sustained knife head and thighs injuries and thereafter bled to death.

The house in which she was killed was stained with blood, pointing to intense bleeding.

Bhang, condoms, and alcohol
The two shared a bottle of whisky and also took an HIV test. The test was negative, according to police officers.
The items recovered from the scene include a Samsung phone, condoms and bhang. Other items include a bottle of alcohol, and a bloody kitchen knife.
According to Florence Ngina, the owner of the apartment, which is now a scene of crime, her staff informed her that Matara left in a huff in the early morning.
Ngina and her staff used a spare key to open the locked room, to which they were welcomed with a bloody scene.
She reported the matter to South B police station, which saw a team of police and DCI officers rush to the scene.

Suspect arrested
Police used Matara’s phone details to trace him to Mbagathi Hospital. He was allegedly receiving treatment for a stab wound.
The police are trying to establish the confrontation that culminated to the murder of Starlet Wahu.

Pastor Kanyari speaks about her sister’s death
Reacting to her younger sister’s death, Pastor Victor Kanyari termed the incident shocking.
“I am heartbroken; she was doing so well in life. We last met on Christmas, and on December 31, we spent time together at home.
We had not seen the man before. We learned about him after her death. This is so tragic for us, the family, and even her friends. May her soul rest in peace,” Pastor Kanyari told Nairobi News.
