Mike Sonko, the former governor of Nairobi, has caused a stir online after flaunting his KSh 325,000 phone.
The new phone is a replacement for his old one, which crashed sometime recently.
The former governor, who is known for having expensive taste, claimed to have ordered the pricey phone a while back and was overjoyed when it arrived.
The ex-governor added that he was committed to developing a strong online identity as he engages with his supporters.
Sonko posted on TikTok the receipt for the pricey phone, which cost KSh 325,000.
“It has just arrived from Nairobi because I am not in the city. I am now happy that I can be reachable for you guys,” he said.
The flamboyant politician gave his viewers a thrilling glimpse of the new luxury device’s unboxing in the video. He went ahead to praise its enormous storage capacity, which was adequate for his needs.
Mike Sonko said he was determined to pull out all the stops to guarantee his online presence. He also stated his desire to expand his social media reach and partake in debates touching on Wananchi lives.

In May 2023, the governor caused a stir online after flaunting bundles of cash.
The ex-governor bragged that he is a wealthy man, showing off wards of cash in dollars and shillings, saying that in total he had KSh 52 million as petty cash.
“You say I don’t have money because I don’t help children. Who told you that a person over the age of 18 is a child? Someone who has given birth and who has been educated until they finish school. I have money, but not to spend on children. I have money to spend on my wives. Let me show you,” Sonko began, launching into a series of insults.
The governor was then reacting to reports from a section of netizens that he had gone broke.
