Deputy President William Ruto has responded to claims by leaders opposing him that they will use the ‘system’ to clinch power in 2022.
Speaking while hosting a delegation of community leaders from Kajiado South constituency, DP Ruto maintained that God and Kenyans will decide who to lead the country come 2022.

The DP dared those opposing him to use the purported ‘system’ when the time to fight for the top seat comes.
“Tunatishiwa ati iko system, ati iko deep state, ati iko watu watatuibia kura hata mkipiga kura namna gani kuna watu wamekati mahali flani wataamua.
“Mimi nataka niwaambie, hawa watu tunawangojea, hiyo deep state tunangojea, na hiyo system tunangojea, watakuja na system sisi tutakuja na wananchi na Mungu,” said the DP.
DP Ruto also termed the ‘system’ statements as threats similar to ones he and President Uhuru Kenyatta received before the 2017 general elections.
“Kama ningekua mtu mwoga hatungeunda hii serikali ya Jubilee, kama Uhuru Kenyatta angekua mtu mwoga hatungeunda hii serikali ya Jubilee kwa sababu tulikua tunatishiwa mambo mingi,” he added.
This came two days after Jubilee Vice chair hinted that ODM leader will be on the 2022 ballot.
Speaking during an interview with KTN News, Murathe asked Kenyans to reward the opposition leader with presidency for his struggle and sacrifices for democracy in Kenya.
“We think it’s time Kenyans rewarded the years of struggle of Raila Amollo Odinga. They owe it to him. It’s like Mandela, and 2022 will be a Mandela Moment. And we would also like to tell him (Raila) to be a transitional president who will then nurture the young generation to take over in 2027,” he said.
On Saturday August 8, Raila’s brother and EALA MP Oburu Odinga also hinted that Baba will be on the ballot come 2022.

“We are now moving to the next stage which is almost tbe last one before we go to the general elections in 2022… We are now making strategies for winning the elections. We have won three times but every time we win we are robbed off that victory,” Oburu said
