Popular Nigerian prophet Abel Boma has warned that President Yoweri Museveni will be ousted from power by 2025.

Boma in a TikTok video said protests and terrorist attacks in the country will conspire to force Museveni to relinquish power.

Without giving details, the prophet said there was a plan against the president and advised the head of state to leave power.

“But let us pray for him to walk away from the seat peacefully. There will be a lot of protests against the president of Uganda. Museveni, your time is up.”

He further said Uganda will experience terrorist attacks and heightened insecurity.

“Whatever will take you to leave the seat this year to next year will happen. Yoweri Museveni, you will leave the seat,” said Boma.

Uganda is expected to hold its presidential election in January 2026. It is not clear if Museveni will contest or will back a successor.

There have been rumours that Museveni is grooming his son, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, to succeed him.

In March 2023, Kainerugaba announced that he would contest for the presidency in the 2026 poll.

The high-ranking UPDF general then wrote on Twitter, saying it was “time for our generation to shine.”

“In the name of Jesus Christ my God, in the name of all the youth of Uganda and the world, and in the name of our great revolution, I will run for president in 2026,” he wrote.

Yoweri Museveni, 79, who has ruled Uganda since 1986, may again run for president in the upcoming 2026 election.

With an average age of 15.9 years, Uganda is among the youngest nations in the world.
