President Yoweri Museveni’s daughter, Diana Kyaremera Museveni, is officially divorced.
Kyaremera was married to businessman Geoffrey Kamuntu for 18 years.
The first daughter revealed she felt compelled to inform the public of the unfolding in order to clarify the situation for the sake of the children.
“I have tried to keep my divorce private and out of the public sphere for the sake of my children,” Kyaremera said.
“However, I feel the need to clarify now.”
The first daughter known to keep a low profile also accompanied her statement with the “Decree Nisi,” confirming the legal dissolution of her marriage. The document was issued in 2022.
Cracks in the first daughter’s marriage to the businessman started appearing in 2022 when she formally applied to drop the use of her husband’s name, “Kamuntu.”

She further urged women to regularly forgive their spouses and never store anger.
