Lucy Maina, the main character in the Citizen TV Becky, has recounted her journey to the silver screen
Becky, the main actor of Citizen TV’s telenovela that bears the same name, has recounted her journey to stardom.
Speaking on Citizen TV on October 6, the gorgeous actor revealed acting on Becky was a dream come true.
Becky, whose real name is Lucy Maina, said she had a dream that she would one day be the main actor in a show that bears her name.
“I had a dream that I’d be on a TV show where I’m the main actor and the show bears my name,” said Becky.
“Now it has happened, and it’s a dream come true.”

Becky described her journey to stardom as a rollercoaster, having to endure days of meager earnings.
“When I started acting, part of my family felt that I was wasting my time. And the reason is that I would take on extra roles, but the pay was meager,” she said.
“And they’d ask, ‘Is this the career you’d like to pursue?’
She, however, maintained consistency and hard work, and things started getting better. She says her family is very supportive and never misses the show.
“My family is very supportive. Sometimes my aunts and uncles call to comment on how they hate Trisha,” says Becky, who is an orphan.
How Becky got into acting
Lucy Maina started acting in high school, where she was a drama club member.
“After high school, that’s when I started attending plays. I found a friend who encouraged me to audition for roles,” says the secondborn in a family of five siblings.
Her acting career took off after she got a role in the Aunt Boss show.

She advises upcoming actors to be patient and have consistency to succeed.
“Acting requires passion. One would easily give up if they were not driven by passion,” she said.
Becky is cast as the maid of a wealthy family in upmarket Nairobi.
She goes ahead and falls in love with Junior, the son of her employer.

However, Junior’s mother disapproves of their relationship and wants him to marry Trisha, who comes from a rich background.
