COTU boss Francis Atwoli has clarified claims that he is set to retire following the election of William Ruto as the president elect.

The blogger who works with Ruto also claimed that Atwoli had scheduled a meeting in regards to his succession.

“COTU SG Francis Atwoli has finally decided to take a backseat. However, he is trying to force a successor. The Labour Movement is however resisting his decision

“Atwoli has called an emergency meeting of the Labour Movement tomorrow,” Itumbi said.

Reacting to the claims, Atwoli confirmed that he had convened a meeting, however, noting that it is a fundraiser for a former Banking, Insurance and Finance Union (BIFU) employee.

He also asked Itumbi to join him for the fundraiser.

“This is a sad moment for us following the death of Bro Isiah Kubai who was the GS of BIFU. We have called for a meeting to conduct a fundraiser in preparation for the burial on Friday in Meru
