Jimmy Kibaki is perhaps the man expected to carry forth the political legacy of the late president Mwai Kibaki.
The late former President Mwai Kibaki was on Saturday, April 30 laid to rest at his home in Othaya, Nyeri County.
The burial ceremony in Othaya followed a State funeral, a day earlier, on Friday, April 29, at the Nyayo National Stadium.
The funeral was graced by among others President Uhuru Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
First Lady Margaret Kenyatta and Mama Rachel Ruto was also in attendance.
Kibaki is survived by four children namely; Jimmy Kibaki, Tony Githinji Kibaki, David Kagai and Judy Wanjiku.
Jimmy is notably the most popular and vocal among Kibaki’s children making him the new face of the family following their mother Lucy Kibaki’s death and now their dad.
Away from the public eye, Jimmy who is currently married to Catherine was previously married to one Sherly Anne, a Kenyan of Indian descent.
It is still unclear whether he divorced his first wife or not.
Jimmy and Anne have three children together. They are fashion model Sean Andrew, Ryan Mwai Junior and Emma Ngini.
Ryan and Sean were present during key events before Kibaki’s interment but Emma was not spotted during any of the days.
On the other hand, Jimmy and Anne were not spotted together during the mourning period as he was accompanied by his wife Catherine.
The two seemingly have a young daughter together, as they were spotted walking with her.
Not much is known about Catherine.
