A 94-year-old retired teacher from Nyeri has warmed many after giving away his KSh 6 million home to be used as a home for the elderly.
Nduhiu Njama explained that he decided to give away his home after seeing the elderly suffering in villages while their children are in the city.

He added that he will relocate to the city to stay with his children once the care home plan is approved by the county.
Njama built the house in 1992 and he lived with his late wife and their six children.
He also said that his wife passed away before they could fulfill their dream of giving back to the society.
“My wife passed away in 2003 before we fulfilled our dream of giving back to the society. We always wanted to do something for others but we had not yet settled on any gesture.
“But since she is now gone, I have no one to share the property with at my retirement home,” he stated in an interview with a local daily.

His children said that they were not surprised by his gesture as he was a humble, generous man full of love for humanity.
