Marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge has spoken just moments after failing to defend the London Marathon title.
Taking to Twitter, Kipchoge said his right ear blocked and couldn’t open again thus affecting his performance.

He added that he has accepted the defeat and he is now focusing for the winning next time.
“After 25 kilometers my ear blocked and it couldn’t open anymore. But this is how sport is, we should accept defeat and focus for the winning next time. Thanks for the support,” he wrote.
Kipchoge finished eighth in 2:06:49 in the 40th edition of the marathon.
He lost his first race since coming second to Wilson Kipsang in a world-record pace Berlin Marathon in 2013 as he finished sixth.
Kitata won the race in 2:05:42 in a sprint finish against Kenya’s Vincent Kipchumba and Ethiopian Sisay Lemma who came third.
