Kigen’s uncle Dennis Langat said that the patient had a stomach ailment which made him loose consciousness at home after which his family members rushed him to hospital.
Upon arrival at the hospital, a nurse reportedly checked on him before pronouncing him dead.
Kigen was immediately transferred to the mortuary where he was received by the mortuary attendant who began the body preservation process.
However, while the attendant was making an incision on the right leg of the patient to be used in the infusion of formalin, he gained consciousness and wailed in pain causing a stampede.
