This follows reports of Olu’s passing that started circulating on Sunday, June 30.
Most of the social media posts attracted condolence messages, given that the 82-year-old actor has been sick for some time.

The Facebook posts painted a sombre picture of a man whose protracted battle with dementia had come to an end.
What’s more, most of the posts did not quote a credible source, in this case his family.
Is Olu Jacobs dead?
Olu’s wife, Joke Silva Jacobs, has addressed his husband’s death rumours.
In an article on PN News, Silva dispelled rumours of his husband’s death.
Silva is quoted by the publication as saying, “My husband is alive and doing just fine.”
This is the second time death rumours of the stellar actor and film executive have surfaced online.
The first time the rumours appeared online was in 2022, when Silva took to Instagram to condemn the false reports.
The ailing actor, whose real name is Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, is among the most illustrious actors in Africa.
Olu Jacobs, known for his polished mien, took a break from acting following his deteriorating health.

The Nollywood star is ailing from Lewy body dementia.
Olu Jacobs trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, England. The Nollywood legend had acted in over 100 movies before hanging his boots.
