2023 KCSE: 1, 216 Candidates Score Straight As, How to Check Results

The Education CS Ezekiel Machogu officially released the 2023 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam results on Monday, January 8.

The results announced by Machogu show a total of 1,216 candidates out of 895,533 scored a mean grade of A.

7,254 candidates got the A- (minus) grade.

The CS said while announcing the result at Moi Girls High School, Eldoret said those who scored As, 889 were from national schools, while 172 were from extra-county schools.

2023 KCSE results in summary

There were 1,216 (0.14%) candidates who obtained an overall grade of A in the 2023 KCSE Examination compared to 1,146 (0.13%) candidates in the year 2022,” said Machogu.

889 of the A-pool candidates were from national schools, while 172 were from extra-county schools.

Private schools managed 143 As, while county and sub-county schools got 5 and 7 As, respectively.

There were 10,370 males and 7,708 females among the total 18,078 who got a mean grade of B+. 36,728 candidates got a B plain. 59,514 got a B-, and 78,343 scored a C+.

This means 201,133 candidates achieved the minimum university entry grade of C+ in the 2023 KCSE.

How to Check 2023 KCSE Results

 Parents and students are able to access the 2023 KCSE results through an online portal.

“Individual 2023 KCSE candidates’ examination results will be accessed online through a link on the KNEC website or directly at https://results.knec.ac.ke/,” a statement from KNEC read in part.

You will be required to enter the candidate’s index number and the name(s) as per the registration data for the 2023 KCSE examination.”

You will be asked to submit details after entering the candidates’ index number.

The results of the will appear on the screen if the information submitted is accurate.

Candidates can access their official result slips from the exam centres where they took their exams.

Candidates will not be able to obtain the results via SMS code, in contrast to previous years.
