Drama ensued at the The Bomas of Kenya after United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance agents clashed.
The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is using the venue as the national tallying center.
According to Nation, a heated confrontation ensued over a suspicious gadget reportedly sneaked into the auditorium by UDA agents.
The Azimio team is said to have noted the presence of the gadget and complained halting the verification of the presidential results for a moment.
The chaos drew the attention of IEBC commissioners with Abdi Guliye calling in the security and kicking out all agents from the floor; except for the chief agents.
He also called for an urgent meeting with the chief agents of both Azimio and UDA.

Elsewhere, the Assumption of Office of the President Committee held its first meeting on Friday, August 12 as the verification of presidential results continues at the Bomas of Kenya.
Head of Public Service, Joseph Kinyua said that the chaired the inaugural meeting, adding that the committee will be making periodic updates of the process.
He also stated that the swearing in of the president-elect will be declared a public holiday.
“The committee’s core mandate is to facilitate a smooth transition from the current administration to the incoming administration
“Substantively, the mandate of the committee will be triggered once the IEBC formally announces the results of the 9th August 2022 Presidential Election and declares a President-Elect,” Kinyua said.
Kinyua was accompanied by among others Attorney General Paul Kihara, Chief of Defence Forces Robert Kibochi and Inspector General of Police Hilary Mutyambai.

Others were Interior Permanent Secretary Karanja Kibicho and Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Macharia Kamau.
