-He said his church uses the offertory collections to build community-transforming projects that empower residents of Kilifi and Kenya

Pastor Ezekiel Odero has opened up to the public about how his church uses the offertory given at his New Life Prayer Centre.

Odero disclosed that the church has over 45,000 congregants, based in the country and online, who give generously.

He further told senators that the offertory goes to the church’s account and not his personal account.

“The offerings do not go into my personal account. All land title deeds and cars are registered in the church’s name. I do not own a house or land in my name. Even the underwear and watch that I’m wearing were bought by the church,” Odero told the MPs.

The pastor was speaking in the Senate in regard to the ongoing probe into the Shakahola killings on Friday, October 13.

Pastor Ezekiel told the committee that he does not use church offerings for self-benefit.

The preacher said the church had built a dam and an international school to benefit the community and the country.

“Through these offerings, we have built one of the best international schools in Kenya, if not East Africa,” he said.

“We are building an Olympic-standard swimming pool, the only one besides that at Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani.”

“We have a dam on a nine-and-a-half-acre parcel of land. It has water and is protected to help the community during dry seasons.”
