2 Ugandan Men Hospitalised After fight for Mother of 10

-Two Ugandan men are admitted to Soroti Regional Referral Hospital after being injured in a fight over a woman who has 10 children

-Joseph Esenu reportedly caught Charles Okwale pants down with his wife, Petwa Ajakol

Two Ugandan men are hospitalised with deep cuts after a bloody fight over a mother of 10 children.

Charles Okwale, 38, and Joseph Esenu, 48, engaged in a fierce fistfight that also involved the use of daggers and hand-held hoes.

Authorities say the Sunday, October 1 fight occurred after Esenu allegedly caught Okwale making out with his wife Petra Ajakol at around midnight in Aukot village, Saroti District.

Hospital records show that Okwale was admitted to the hospital in critical condition. He had sustained deep and open wounds on the left side of his chest, as well as on his arms and legs.

Okwale’s rival Esenu was also wailing in pain in the same hospital, with deep open injuries on his head, arms, and back.

Esenu claimed his wife and Esenu have been in a peculiar sexual relationship since 2015, and his efforts to end it did not bear fruit.

“This is the third time I’m getting them red-handed. I first caught them in the bush and forgave them. The second time was in 2018, when my clan members intervened and charged him a fine of UGX 200,000 on caution not to repeat,” Esenu told Monitor.

Esenu said that he was together with the wife until 11:30 pm, Saturday, September 30, when she sneaked out only to find the pair making love.

“In his attempt to flee, I hit him with a dagger. He managed to escape but returned with a hand hoe to fight back. And in the process, I was also injured,” explained Esenu.

Local community leader John Michael Egadu attributed the incident to alcoholism.

The parties have yet to report the matter to the police.
