Netizens have called on police to arrest a Nairobi-based lawyer captured in a video assaulting a woman presumed to be his lover.

The video, which surfaced and went viral on Thursday, September 28, captured the sad moment when Raymond Nduga slapped the woman mercilessly as she begged him to calm down.

In a fit of anger and hubris, Raymond Nduga swiftly rose from his sitting position and rained slaps on the woman as a man seated with the couple watched.

“Leave this place, leave! Leave this place. I am done,” he is heard saying as he vented his anger on the hapless woman.

In the ensuing melee, the woman in absolute humility is heard pleading, “I have been jealous.”

The clip has caused public anger, with netizens calling on the police to arrest the lawyer.

The horrific video has also seen netizens dig up Nduga’s social media profile, sharing screenshots of past messages.

Here are some of the reactions:

Kenyan Mwango: “I am shocked that people still abuse women this much. I can’t watch it. I hope the lady left this fool.”

Emily Amukoa: Na wakuchapwa si angeamka akimbie. I just can’t sit n wait to receive all those electrical slaps. I don’t have legs but kama Niko nayo..ahhh!!!I will run kesi baadae.

Divinah Makini: “So sad. No one should fight anyone in the relationship, regardless of gender. Choose yourself well enough to quit and move on if it’s not working.”

Anastacia Triza: This is absurd. By the time one gets to being violent with you publicly, you have suffered silently privately. You should have left the first time he raised his hand in suggestion to hit.

Princess Mary: “My problem is not even Raymond; my problem is the guy sitting there as if he were watching a movie. He is the worst human.”

Jacinta Mbenge: I tell you these are the things that make me think twice about Marriage. I better be ridiculed of being a single mom than being turned into a punching bag.

Joshua Ayika: “The most painful bit about this story is that this lady literally begged Raymond Nduga for forgiveness but he kept on beating her up.”
