Drama ensued in Kisumu CBD after a road rage involving a police officer and a motorist.
According to a short video widely circulated online, the motorist had seemingly rammed into the police car, a white Land Cruiser.
The clip showed the motorist reversing the vehicle and rammed into the police car again; damaging the car’s bonnet.
Moments later, a police officer emerged from their vehicle through the rear door while wielding his pistol.
The officer jumped out of the Land Cruiser and immediately started firing shots while aiming at the tires.
The motorist reversed and left the scene with two deflated tires.
According to Nyanza regional police boss Karanja Muiruri, the motorist sped off towards a hotel in Milimani area where the officers pursued and arrested him.
Muiruri also stated that the motorist, a renowned lawyer, has a history of mental unwellness.

Elsewhere, blogger Robert Alai and musician Ringtone Apoko were in July 2021 involved in an ugly road rage following a minor accident.
According to videos shared online, the two were involved in an accident in Nairobi’s Kilimani area.

It was further alleged that Alai hit Ringtone with a rungu leads in to the altercation.
Videos showed Alai holding a rungu while engaging Ringtone in a shouting match.
