Baringo senator Gideon Moi was Friday, January 22 installed as the Kalenjin Kingpin by Talai elders in Nandi County.
The unexpected ceremony took three hours at dawn as from 4 am being a big surprise to the area residence.

Gideon was driven to Nandi immediately after landing in the Eldoret Airport.
The coronation ceremony was led by Nandi elder Christopher Koyogi.
In support of other elders Koyogi announced that Gideon is the new Kalenjin elders with the same powers that his father was given 63 years ago.
He was handed over the instruments of power, blessed and directed to make a step ahead in search of state leadership.
Gideon will now be in a disagreement with Deputy President William Ruto who had been put as the Kalenjin Kingpin by different Talai elders.

The senator was heading to the residence of Councillor Christopher Arap Koyoki where he was to be put as the Kalenjin elder.
Supporters of the DP from Kapsisiywa and Talai then obstructed his entry to the venue.

The fury youths with no giving up forced Moi to turn back.
