President Uhuru Kenyatta’s look-alike Michael Gitonga has been gifted a brand new car.
Gitonga was on Friday morning, September 4 gifted a 2013 Nissan Note worth KSh700,000 by Maridady Motors.

Speaking after receiving the car gift, Gitonga said the vehicle will help him get into the taxi business after his bar business was shut down as per the COVID-19 guidelines.
“I wouldn’t want to fail after being given a Ksh700,000 asset. I want to continue growing, and if possible, expand my business,” he said.
The company said it offered Gitonga a car as part of their corporate social responsibility.
“We settled on him because we understand that the coronavirus crisis negatively affected his business,” said the car-dealing firm’s CEO, Eric Mwangi Ngige.
On Thursday, August 13, a photo showing Gitonga posing with a Lexus LX570 2016 surfaced on social media with many speculating that he had been gifted the car.
Gitonga, however, cleared the air saying he has not been gifted any car and warned those spreading the rumours to stop.
In a past interview, Gitonga disclosed that people nicknamed him ‘Uhunye’, adding that the name has made him suffer so much as people think he has money.

“Sometimes, I meet people who tell me that they have not had anything to eat and being ‘Uhunye’, I have to give them some money. In fact, that name has really made me suffer,” he stated.
