Postmortem conducted on a man who died in a fire incident inside his car has ruled out foul play and disputed reports tha he was killed elsewhere and then placed in the car as a cover-up.
On Tuesday, May 5 Chief government pathologist Johansen Oduor said Terance Korir, 36, died from burns further revealing that he had a lot of soot in his airways from the tongue to the lungs.

“There was a lot of soot in the airway from the tongue to the lungs. This shows us that actually the person died in the fire… This is not a person who was planted dead in the fire. He was alive when he was burning,” he said.
“We estimate most likely he inhaled a lot of soot, an indication that he took a lot of time in the car before he died because we saw discoloration of tissues. This happens when you inhale more corbonmonoxide,” he added.
Oduor further noted that Korir’s intestines were empty an indication that he had not eaten for sometime.
On Tuesday, April 29 security guards manning Mai Mahiu Court along Katulo Road, Buruburu Phase 5 reported that a car burning at the parking yard before Nairobi county firefighters were called to put out the fire.
Korir had been burnt beyond recognition with only his back and rear end being spared.
The incident sparked a heated debate on social media with many claiming it was a result of domestic misunderstandings.

However, Oduor said the results showed nothing sinister and extraordinary saying that other organs, including the brain, lungs and intestines remained intact.
