Meru woman withdraws case against daughters who attacked her after night out

A woman from Meru has withdrawn a case against her daughters who beat her up and threatened to expel her from her house.

Mary Mwingirwa withdrew the case against her daughters Lilian Kirito, Pauline Kananu and Jemima Mwingirwa on the premise that they had agreed to bury the hatchet.

The incident that took place at her house at Nchurai village, Tigania West Meru county left her nursing an elbow injury.

Court documents detail that the girls had arrived at around 10 pm and found their mother asleep following a day-long trip.

Another sibling opened the door for them but the three went ahead to demand answers from their mother as to why there had been a delay in opening the door.

They hurled insults at their mother and pushed her to the ground, injuring her left elbow and waist, occasioning her actual bodily harm, Nairobi News reports.

In the ensuing melee, the girls went to their father’s grave, sat on it while “calling him” to expel the mother out of the house.

However, Mwingirwa who is a prominent cereals trader said she had decided to drop the matter, prompting the court to release them.
