A Kenyan pilot has shocked many after it emerged that he used a fake Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate to gain admission into an aviation school.
The pilot, Ahmad Nassir Dirie Olow, managed to secure a spot at the aviation school after making a KCSE certificate indicating that he scored a B+.
It also emerged that Olow has been flying for eight years.
According to a police report dated Thursday, January 28, the pilot presented the certificate to Lt. Col. Amin Ali on July 30, 2011.
Ali is the head of training at Ninety Nines Flying School based at Wilson Airport.
Olow was also accused of presenting the fake document to Sergeant Cyrus Ikade on January 6, 2021, at the Anti-Terrorist Police Unit headquarters at Upper Hill, Nairobi.
Olow denied the charges before Nairobi Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku and was released on a KSh 50, 000 cash bail.
