Popular Ohangla musician Maureen Achieng, popularly known as Lady Maureen is admitted in a Migori hospital.
The artiste who is admitted at Pastor Machage Hospital in Migori is said to be suffering from severe anaemia and malaria.
Eveline Osewe, a nurse attending to Lady Maureen who spoke to Nairobi News said the singer’s condition had improved and she was in a stable condition.
“The patient was brought here from St Joseph Omboo Mission Hospital in a bad condition but she has improved,” said the Nurse.
“She is out of danger, her condition has greatly improved and soon she will be discharged,” she said.
The musician complained of back pain following an operation, which she complained had left her immobile.
“I find it hard to get up and even walk on my own. My legs are too weak and I have to be supported to walk. It’s traumatising but I believe I will get better,” she told Nairobi News from her hospital bed.
The Olima and Safari ya Canaan hitmaker called on well-wishers to come to her aid in seeking medication.
The singer said her illness started in 2018 after she was released from a Tanzanian prison where she had been held for two weeks for allegedly working without permit.
She would later say the the claims she had followed the law and the claims were meant to tarnish her name.
