Lorna Omondi Ogolla has mourned his father Gen Francis Ogolla in a moving post on LinkedIn.

Omondi termed his late father as a pursuer of excellence and an empathetic leader.

She hailed his father as one who taught his actions and not his words.

“My father. Pursuer of excellence.
Most empathetic and effective leader and statesman just went down in chopper crash in West Pokot.

Doing what he did best for the better part of the last 40 years – trying to keep Kenya Safe.
“One day I shall tell beautiful stories of how he taught with his actions and not with his words. But today – I rush home to send him off to the great beyond”

Many of her friends sent their messages of encouragement to Omondi. Here are some of the condolence messages.

Lucy Mukuria: I grieve with you. Your father was a good man. An empathic leader. An officer who cared to listen. He was always kind to me and I will always always always remember him for that. He didn’t have to follow the professional advise from an officer of a lower rank than him about mental and behavioral wellness of the men and women in his base. But he did. I pray for your divine peace and comfort at this time because weuh, this is painful. This hurts. This is gutting.

Elijah Muema: “Sincere condolences to you Lorna and family.May God comfort your hearts and give you peace.Kenya has lost an asset.God have Mercy.”

Bosire Master: He indeed provided service to our country. It’s unfortunate. May we never forget that freedom isn’t free. It is forged by men and women who go out of their way. I wish I had the right words to comfort you. Our prayers and thoughts are with your family.
