-Brian Mwenda has been arrested
-Mwenda was arrested by the authorities on Thursday evening, October 12
-He is being accused of falsely presenting himself as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya
Brian Mwenda epitomises what American humorist and writer Mark Twain said: “All you need in this life is ignorance and confidence, and then success is sure.”
But unlike the subject of Mark Twain’s tweet, Mwenda oozes sophisticated mien, complete with ‘a Rick Ross’ beard and a tweng.
Mwenda has been masquerading as an advocate of the High Court and has supposedly represented clients in 26 cases. And rumour has it he won most, if not all, of them.

LSK Nairobi branch sounded the alarm, cautioning the public about Mwenda.
“The Branch wishes to notify all members of the society and of the public that Brian Mwenda Njagi is not an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, from the society’s records, neither is he a member of the Branch,” read the statement on X (formerly Twitter).
LSK President Eric Theuri confirmed that the individual operating under the name Brian Mwenda Njagi was not an advocate. He said they had asked the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to arrest him.
“We have invited the DCI to track this person and arrest him for impersonation,” Theuri said.
The news spread quickly on X, with netizens sharing videos of the alleged fake lawyer’s prior exploits. These include instances of video of him causing a disturbance at an LSK conference.

Kenyans on X were particularly awed with his apparent command of legalese and charisma.
“If they are presenting something verbally that is contradictory to what is on the affidavit, which I was also going to highlight… There are quite a number of facts that are not in alignment…”he says as he tears at the contents of an affidavit.
