The giant telecommunications company explained that the shutdown aims to allow its staff to attend an internal staff event.

The telco apologised for the inconvenience and promised to resume normal services on Saturday, October 7.
“Kindly note that all shops in Nairobi, excluding JKIA, will remain closed on Friday, October 6. Normal services will resume on Saturday, October 7.
“For further assistance, ask Zuri or visit your nearest Safaricom dealer. We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” Safaricom stated.
“We appreciate your understanding and look forward to serving you with renewed energy and enthusiasm on Saturday.”
Safaricom is the most dominant telco in Kenya, with 47 million subscribers.
