(Video) Journalist Excited as Ruto Recognizes Her During Inauguration Ceremony

A video of President William Ruto interacting with a journalist during his inauguration ceremony has gone viral online sparking wild reactions.

Ruto was sworn in as the fifth president of Kenya in a fully-packed inauguration ceremony at Kasarani Stadium on Tuesday, September 13.

In the viral video, Ruto shared a moment with Stage Presence Media (SPM) Buzz journalist, Betty Kithinji.

The Head of State was making a lap at the stadium aboard the presidential land cruiser when he greeted the journalist.

Ruto raised a thumbs up to a smiling Miss Kithinji who waved back at the president.

In the video, the journalist was covering the event and she was seen walking beside the land cruiser.

It appeared that Ruto was looking at her for a moment and when she turned to look at him, he raised his hand before the journalist waved back.

“Do I need another reason to say that I’m working hard? What a moment! The 5th President Of Kenya just waved at me,” Kithinji wrote on Facebook.

Elsewhere, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Tuesday, September 13 sparked reactions after publicly attacking former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The DP hit out at Uhuru when he took to the podium to make his inauguration speech after taking the oath of office.

Gachagua accused Uhuru of messing the country’s economy, adding that the new government have a hard task of reviving the economy.

“The truth of the matter is that we have inherited a dilapidated economy which is almost facing shut down. We have a huge task to liberate this country and bring it back to where Mwai Kibaki left it,” he said.

He also claimed that Uhuru’s administration operated on intimidations, threats and surveillance of government officers.

“Today, I want to tell the people of Kenya that you are finally free. Public servants and all people of Kenya you don’t have to fear talking through WhatsApp for fear of being recorded

“I want to give a word on behalf of our President, that you are free to criticise his government without fear of reprisal,” Gachagua added.
