The 2023 KCPE results have been officially released.

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu announced the 2023 KCPE results on Thursday, November 23, at Mitihani House.

Machogu revealed during the results announcement that the top candidate got 428 out of a possible 500 marks.

According to Machogu, there was an improvement in English, composition, and sign language tests in 2023 compared to 2022.

In math and science, male candidates outperformed female candidates by a small margin.

There were 8,523 individuals that got a score between 400 and 500.

This is a slight decline when compared to the 2022 KCPE exams.

The 9,354 candidates who did not take the exam will have an opportunity to retake it in January 2024.

A total of 1,406,557 candidates took the 2023 KCPE, according to Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu.

 How to Check KCPE 2023 Results Via SMS

Guardians, parents, or students send the candidate’s index number to 40054.

The service costs KSh 25 for each SMS.

There could be delays in the system due to the large number of students that took exams.

Using the KNEC Portal

If sending an SMS isn’t practical, those interested might visit KNEC’s web portal.

Navigate to the KNEC tab on the portal and choose the year the candidate took the examinations.

The candidate will see their results upon entering and submitting their index number.
