Moses Kuria Shares Touching Kikuyu Gospel Songs After Cabinet Reshuffle

Moses Kuria was among the cabinet secretaries affected by the Wednesday night cabinet reshuffle.

Sometimes things happen suddenly, and when they do, that’s when one discovers the importance of divine intervention.

That may have been the case with Moses Kuria, who has been moved to the newly reconstituted and renamed Ministry of Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management.

Kuria previously headed the Investments, Trade, and Industry docket.

However, it appears Kuria does not like the reshuffle by President William Ruto, if his posts on X (formerly Twitter) are anything to go by.

Soon after the announcement of the reshuffle, the CS posted the popular Kikuyu Gospel song, “Mwathani wakwa Njakaniria Tawa” (please light my way).

The song by Murage wa Kigooco is an appeal to God to come to his rescue.

It’s chorus sums it up:

“God, light my way. I am being followed by great darkness. And the shadows before me look like boulders, where my enemies lie in wait. I pray that you send an angel to scuttle their evil plan. And sadness will leave my heart.”

Shortly after, the CS also posted “Ihinda Riakinya” (When the right time comes) by Elijah Miller.

The song’s lyrics extol patience and longsuffering as one goes through trials.

The song extols the fact that destiny lies in the hands of God, and no man can change the purpose of God.

The CS would later post Paul Waiganjo’s “Wi Ngai wa Mahinda Mothe” (You’re God of all Seasons).

The reshuffle that has attracted varied views saw various ministries merged and renamed.
