Plane Makes Emergency Landing Due to Passenger’s Diarrhoea

According to media reports, a passenger had diarrhoea on board, making it impossible for the flight to continue.

A flight that was two hours into its journey on Friday evening requested to turn back.

In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), the pilot stated in audio that a passenger had diarrhoea “all the way through the aeroplane” .

The plane was cleaned and took off for Barcelona the following day.

“We’ve had a passenger who’s had diarrhoea all the way through the aeroplane, so they want us to come back to Atlanta,” says the audio recording on X, reportedly from air traffic control.

Speaking to the Insider, Delta confirmed there had been a “medical issue” on board, which meant the plane had to return to Atlanta to be cleaned: “Delta Flight 194 from Atlanta to Barcelona returned to Atlanta following an onboard medical issue.”

“Our teams worked as quickly and safely as possible to thoroughly clean the airplane and get our customers to their final destination. We sincerely apologise to our customers for the delay and inconvenience to their travel plans.”

 A netizen who claimed their partner was on the flight that made the emergency landing said diarrhoea was “dribbled down the aisle” and “smelled horrible” in a post to X.

“The vanilla-scented disinfectant used on it only made it smell like vanilla s***. After the plane landed, it was thoroughly cleaned. They didn’t leave until around 2:30 a.m.,” X user Dee W wrote.
