WhatsApp: New Feature to Allow Users Use Same Account On Different Phones

WhatsApp down

WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, has introduced an important Whatsapp new feature that will let users use the same WhatsApp account across multiple phones.

On Tuesday, April 25, the Meta-owned platform said that the feature would soon be available to everyone worldwide.

Users of both Android and iOS devices will be able to check their chats and other account information using multiple phones or tablets at once thanks to the new functionality.

Users won’t have to log out of their primary device in order to access their WhatsApp account on another phone.

“Today, we’re improving our multi-device offering further by introducing the ability to use the same WhatsApp account on multiple phones,” the platform said in a blog post.

Furthermore, WhatsApp is simplifying the process of connecting companion devices.

It will gradually offer a unique, more user-friendly way to connect to companion devices. You must enter your phone number on WhatsApp Web to get a one-time code and then activate the device connection on your phone.

Currently, connecting your smartphone requires scanning a QR code.

One of the most desired improvements, the multi-device capabilities, would let users add up to four other devices to their WhatsApp account, just like they can on web browsers, tablets, and desktops.

The new functionality allows users to switch between devices without losing their chats or other data.

WhatsApp has made it clear that this new feature will not compromise users’ security or privacy. All calls and messages will still be end-to-end encrypted if your primary device is inactive for an extended period of time, and you will automatically be logged out of all companion devices.
