Football stars and fans across the world on Sunday, December 18 rekindled the debate on who between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo is the Greatest Of All Time (GOAT).
This follows Argentina’s World Cup win in one of the most dramatic finals in history.
The emotive debate has had supporters of the two players clashing for over a decade on who is the greatest player to have ever played the beautiful game.
Oft times, insults and petty slights are thrown into the mix with each side keen to win the argument.
Argentina’s win rekindled the contested debate with football stars and fans alike declaring on which side they stood.

Some fans however vehemently opposed the crowning of Lionel Messi claiming Cristiano Ronaldo deserved the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) title.

Messi scored twice but the game had to be decided on penalties after the two teams levelled at extra time.
Argentina beat France 4-2 on penalties after a completely a scintillating120 minutes of football.
In other news, the city of Rosalio in Argentina erupted in celebration following the World Cup win.
Messi who hails from the Argentine city of Rosalio commands deep respect among the residents.
