Laugh Industry director and Churchill Show founder, Daniel Ndambuki, alias Churchill has responded to claims made by comedian Zeddy over the past week.
Zeddy claimed that comedians are mistreated by seniors directors at the comedy show, leading to depression and even death.
Speaking during an episode of the show on Sunday, July 19, Churchill insisted that everything is a journey and getting to the top is not easy.
“Watu wanongea sana hadi unashindwa where do you start. Everything is a journey and it has taken me almost 20 years now to do these journey series and we are not stopping,” he said.
Churchill who doubles up as a radio host, urged comedians to use social media as a platform to gain more following by creating content, and sharing them.
“10 years ago you had to audition to become great but right now you can use social media. Now we are not in that era where unasema mtu amekukazia kukua kwa stage, oooh sasa huyu hanitakiii.
“We did time for you guys. Now you are a brand, you even don’t need to be a brand, you just need to have great content to change that social media to media. You don’t have to be on TV, you don’t have to be on radio,” he added.
Zeddy had faulted Churchill Show creative director Victor Ber for the death of two Churchill Show comedians; Njenga Mswahili and Kasee citing frustrations and depression caused by the director.
“Here is the guy behind the artists’ woes @VictorBer24 creative director at Churchill Show “Depression maker”. If you have been to Churchill Show auditions, you know this guy. He will criticise you with his tough words,”she said.
Zeddy also called out Video Director J Blessing describing him as a self centred selfish human, alleging that if he doesn’t like a comedian, he will not record his/her performance.
“I know I might never be on Churchill show stage because of this but my heart will finally be at peace. So unto J Blessing our able super director huyu msee wacha tu, he is a self centered selfish human, for him if he doesn’t like you he will not record your show good example is David the student, he once suspected Davy liked one of his girls.
“Davy never made it on tv, yes he was in the program but once he gets on stage Blessing walks out of the gallery, mujiulize Davy alienda and why did he quit comedy yet he was one of the funniest guys ever, Butita, Akuku Danger just mention a few… He will decide who airs depending on his feelings,” read part of Zeddy’s social media post.
