Kilwa South MP Selemani Bungara has been the subject of discussion on social media for over a month now after remarks he made in a press conference was turned into a meme.
The Tanzanian MP was addressing claims that he had joined President John Pombe Magufuli’s Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM).

The MP also known as “Bwege” vehemently denied the claims saying that he had joined Chama Cha ACT – Wazalendo instead.
“We ulisikia wapi!? We ulisikia wapi!? Mheshimiwa ulisikia wapi!? Niliingia katika Chama Cha ACT nataka muelewe hivo,” Bungara told journalists.
His remarks have since been used in a number of memes after the clip was widely circulated on various social media platforms.
Selemani Bungara has been the member of parliament for Kilwa South since 2005.
The MP has served in various committees in parliament including the Agriculture, Livestock and Water Committee from 2010 to 2013 and the HIV and AIDs Affairs Committee from 2013 to 2015
Bungara also served in the Social Development and Services Committee from 2015 to 2018.
In 2016, the MP made headlines after engaging the deputy speaker in a heated confrontation over his nickname, Bwege.
The Deputy speaker accused the MP of bullying after the heated verbal exchange.
