Schools reopening for other classes suspended until further notice

Reopening of school for the remaining classes has been suspended by the government until further notice.

This comes after the country on Wednesday, October 21 announced a rise in the number of positive Covid-19 cases to 1,068.

The government thought it was fine not to reopen schools for student who are not in progressive classes.

Reports from the Ministry of Education indicates that they are inspecting the first two weeks since schools resumed for grade four and class eight.

According to a source at Jogoo house told the media that school calendar would be made after thorough inspection and advice from the Ministry of Health.

“Whether the rest of learners will be recalled will depend on the advice of the Ministry of Health,” a top education official said.

The rest of the students who have not yet resumed to school will therefore have to wait longer until the consultation and look over of the Covid-19 curve is made.

Due to the increase in the cases of the virus, international school which were supposed to resume in phases as from October 26 have been canceled to protect the children’s health.
