Autopsy conducted on on the bodies of Mariam Kighenda and her four-year-old daughter Amanda Mutheu has revealed the cause of death of the two.
According to Chief Government pathologist Johansen Oduor, the autopsy conducted at Jocham Hospital mortuary in Mombasa, revealed the two died from suffocation.
The family, through spokesperson Luka Mbati, expressed satisfaction with the results, saying burial arrangements would commence immediately.
However, Mbati added that the family intends to sue Kenya Ferry Services over the incident.

Kighenda, 35, and her daughter drowned after their car slipped out of MV Harambee ferry and sunk into the Indian Ocean.
