Omar Lali, the boyfriend of Keroche Breweries heiress Tecra Muigai will be detained for 21 more days as detectives continue to probe Tecra’s death.
Lali, 54, was on Tuesday, May 5 presented before Lamu law courts where Principal Magistrate Allan Temba granted DCI’s homicide detectives 21 days to hold the suspect as they conclude their probe.

Within the period, detectives will take statements from witnesses, analyse the scene, conduct a postmortem and the forensic analysis of phones, CCTV footage and computers that belonged to Tecra and Lali.
The case will be mentioned on May 26.
Lali was arrested after inconsistencies in the versions of events leading to the fall and subsequent death of Tecra. He first said Tecra fell down the stairs and later changed his account saying that she fell in the bathroom.
According to sources, Tecra died from head injuries sustained after falling on the stairs of a private house in Lamu where she was staying with Lali.

It further indicated that Tecra lost plenty of blood and was rushed to the King Fahad County hospital before being airlifted to a Nairobi hospital, where she died.
