An 18-year-old girl from Nandi County has been arrested for allegedly strangling her newborn baby to death after a quarrel with her father.
Police say the suspect identified as Faith Jepkosgei killed her three weeks old son in her parents house in Singore Sub-location, Citizen Digital reports.
The girl claimed her father’s incessant quarrels as to why she gave birth before marriage drove her to commit the act.
The girl was detained at Kabiyet Police Station pending arraignment.
The child’s body, which was found lying in the sitting room, was moved to Kimbilo Funeral Home.
