A bodyguard attached to Machakos Woman Representative Joyce Kamene is being detained at at the Central Police Station for allegedly losing firearm under unclear circumstances.
The female officer identified as Irene Kyama is said to have lost the firearm loaded with six rounds of ammunition while she was on duty along Muindi Mbingu street within the CBD on the evening of Wednesday, October 16.
Kyama was arrested after she reported the incident at Central Police Station, according to a report published by Nairobi News.
“She discovered her forearm make browning pistol of Serial number FN10850 loaded with 6 rounds of 9mm together with its hostel missing.
Her efforts to trace for the same bore no fruits thus prompting her to report,” read part of the incident report.
Kyama said that she realized that the gun was missing at 4pm. A search for the firearm. has been launched.
