KCPE2019: Andy Munyiri from Kiambu emerges top with 440 marks

Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results have been released.

Andy Munyiri of Damacrest School, Thogoto in Kiambu County emerged top candidate with 440 marks.

Flavian Onyango, June Cheptoo and Michael Ndungu tied at 439.

This year’s results have been released 17 days after completion of examinations.

A total of 1,088,986 candidates sat for the examinations between October 29-October 31.

Marking of the examination was concluded on Friday, November 15 and was done by 6,440 examiners for English composition and Kiswahili Insha papers.

When releasing results in Nairobi, Education CS George Magoha promised to all the 1,088,986 candidates will transit to secondary schools.

Magoha said the government to provide 9,000 scholarships to needy students across the country.

Majority of the scholarships to go to needy cases in slums of Mombasa, Nairobi, Nyeri and Kisumu.
