Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju has instructed all Uasin Gishu MCAs to pass the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) referendum Bill or face the music.
According to reports, Tuju summoned 17 nominated MCAs to Nairobi on Friday, February 19 where he issued the instructions.

According to a MCA who was summoned by the SG, they were ordered to pass the bill failure of which they will be subjected to disciplinary action.
“He (Tuju) told us that we must follow the party position on the BBI Bill, failure of which, we will face disciplinary action,” said Edwin Misoi, a nominated MCA.
Despite the warning, Misoi argued that the assembly’s decision on the bill will depend on the views of the people Uasin Gishu.
He added that the assembly Legal committee was conducting public participation and the report it will table to the House will inform the decision they will take.
So far, 11 county assemblies have endorsed the bill with Baringo standing out as the only dissenting voice.
This comes a day after ODM leader Raila Odinga asked courts to throw out several petitions challenging the BBI referendum Bill arguing.
The ODM leader argued that here is no substantial evidence presented against the validity of the Bill.

Barely a month ago, the High Court temporarily stopped the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) from conducting BBI referendum until the cases filed against it were heard and determined.
