Jubilee Party okeys removal of Abdi Guyo as Nairobi County Majority Leader

Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju has confirmed beleaguered Nairobi County Majority leader Abdi Guyo has been replaced with Charles Thuo.

This comes after Monday, November 11 chaos at City Hall that saw MCAs allied to Elachi clash with Guyo’s group forcing police to intervene.

In a letter addressed to Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Beatrice Elachi, Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju directed Guyo’s position to be taken over by Charles Thuo.

Nominated MCA June Ndegwa was picked to replace Chege Waithera as the Majority Chief Whip.

Ziwani MCA Millicent Wambui Mugadi will take over as the deputy majority leader and California MCA Hassan Abdikadir as the deputy chief whip.

The new leaders who have now been endorsed by the Jubilee Party were selected during a meeting held in Mombasa by a section of MCAs allied to Speaker Elachi.

On October 9, chaos rocked City Hall after Elachi returned her position as Speaker after a 13-month absence.

Elachi, who belongs to the Handshake team blamed Guyo for the chaos and vowed to do anything to have him removed from his position as Majority Leader.
