DP Ruto is victim of mudslinging from competitors-Professor Kisiang’ani

Popular political commentator Edward Kisiang’ani has reiterated that Deputy President William Ruto will give his contenders a run for their money in 2022 poll.

On his Twitter account, Kisiang’ani said that DP Ruto’s competitors have resorted to mudslinging in a bid to discredit him before the eyes of Kenyans.

“DP Ruto is under attack from his competitors because none of them stands a chance of beating him in the 2022 presidential polls,” said Kisiang’ani.

” So his competitors think the only way out for them is to spoil his reputation, disinform the public and, hopefully, keep him out of contention,” he added.

He went ahead to state that Ruto was a victim of misinformation and any leader can find him/herself in such a position.

“You might get excited that so many bad things are being said about DP Ruto now. You can cheer but Ruto is not the first leader to face the turbulence of disinformation.

Those you support will one day face the same fate. So be objective in your judgment. Nothing lasts forever.!,” he said.

Kisiang’ani is a distinguished professor and teaches history at Kenyatta University.

Ruto has found himself on the receiving end after his name was dragged in the fake KSh 39.5 billion military arms scandal.

Several leaders have demanded his resignation with some legislators threatening to table a bill in Parliament to have him impeached.

However, Ruto has remained steadfast that he was not involved in the scandal.

He asked the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to hunt for the real culprits and warned the media against being compromised.
