The Public Service Commission (PSC) on Friday, November 13, withdrew all human resource powers delegated to Education CS George Magoha after a video of the CS insulting a junior education official went viral.
In a statement, PSC Communications Director Browne Kutswa said the functions will now be handled by Basic Education PS Richard Belio Kipsang.

“PSC Chairman Stephen Kirogo in a circular addressed to chairpersons of Public Universities Councils and copied to the Head of Public Service Dr Joseph Kinyua, said all human resource matters requiring the attention of the PSC shall henceforth be handled by Dr Kipsang as Authorized Officer of the Ministry until further notice,” Kutswa said.
Kutswa explained that the move was aimed at protecting public servants from undignified and unwarranted attacks.
“Kirogo noted the move was in exercise of the commission’s powers and commitment to protect public servants against undignified and unwarranted attacks,” he added.
A week ago, CS Magoha sparked outrage online after a video of him dressing down Uasin Gishu County Director of Education (CDE) Mbaga Gitonga emerged.
In the video, the CS lashed out at the elderly official for not maintaining the school condition.
After realizing all was not well, the official said he will submit a detailed report to the CS, but he had none of it and that is when hell broke loose.
