Renowned Swahili author and journalist Ken Walibora Waliaula is dead.
According to reports, Walibora’s body was found at Kenyatta National Hospital mortuary on Wednesday, April 15 with indications that he was hit by a speeding bus along Landhies Road.
Walibora had a press card in his pocket and car keys at hand during the time of the accident said to have happened on Friday, April 10.
Reports further indicate that friends and family had been looking for him.
Kenyans took to social media to mourn the author who many described a legend.
Walibora’s novel, Siku Njema catapulted him to fame not only in East Africa but in the world stage.
His other popular works include Ndoto ya Amerika, Kisasi Hapana, and Nasikia Sauti ya Mama; all of which won the Jomo Kenyatta Literary Prize.
