Hostility between Uhuru and Ruto could plunge country into civil war – Lawyer Ahmednassir

Lawyer Ahmnednassir Abdullahi has warned that the open hostility between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto could plunge the country into turmoil.

Abdullahi, known for his incisive analysis, asked the president and his deputy to find a solution for their ‘mutual hatred’ or risk the country plunging into civil strife.

“Uhuru and Ruto must find a solution to their MUTUAL HATRED.Their chemistry is gone. But they were elected not to love one another. Kenyans are grossly underestimating the consequences of a President & his Deputy OPENLY at war..I can see a CIVIL WAR BREWING.. A country going ASUNDER,” wrote the Senior Counsel on Twitter.

The lawyer who is a Jubilee die-hard supporter said the two leaders had forgotten their constitutional calling of uniting Kenyans warning the publicised disagreements could balkanize the country.

“It’s simply impossible for this country to survive 2020, 2021 and 2022 in the current state of covert and overt wars between H.E Uhuru Kenyatta and DP Ruto. It’s just not possible. Uhuru and Ruto are playing with fire and are oblivious to their constitutional calling.”

The relationship between the two leaders has been on the downward trend since President Uhuru’s March 2018 Handshake with ODM leader Raila Odinga.

Previously, Uhuru and DP maintained cordial relations only allowing their respective lieutenants to fight in the open.

However, it appears the gloves are off with recent reports that the DP was recently ejected from his house in Mombasa on “orders from above.”

The DP over the weekend slammed public servants who were disobeying court orders in what was seen as a direct attack on Uhuru’s men at the security docket.

This is after Gatundu MP Moses Kuria spent Friday night in police custody despite court ordering his release.
